First crossing paths when The Response played support for a Deep Sea Diver show in Canada, the two bands reconnected during lock down in early 2020. Deep Sea Diver issued a challenge to anyone who was listening. Write a song in a week using a drum beat provided by them as a starting point. New Pair Of Pants (Coming Collapse) was born out of this challenge. Cascading guitars descend on the steady rhythm section as the writer laments the absence of space tourism. As the song opens into it’s chorus, Andy’s vocal is underpinned by sparkling guitars swimming in reverb lending a dream like atmosphere to lyrics that are all too real. Grab a seat with a view in your new pair of pants and watch the coming collapse to this catchy tune.
