about

Faded Paper is an uptempo indie rock influenced look into the inevitable cycles of human emotion. The backbone of the track are propulsive drums and synth bass underpinning a wall of guitars drowning in effects. It opens up in the chorus representing the emotional high before falling back into chaos. Faded Paper is part of the 'Escaping This Cold Rotation' album by The Response (December 6, 2019 release).

The Response - Faded Paper - Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Faded paper
Figures in the night
Time’s the shaper
Nothing left to fight

Truth or dare?
What will set you free?
Do I care?
What does it mean to me?

[Chorus]
All the thoughts in your head
Overgrown, been too long now
Try so hard, cut them down
Won’t be long ‘til they find their way back home

[Verse 2]
Winter comes
A long forgotten friend
Now I run
I want it all to end

See the road
Unfolding like a storm
Should I go?
Or wait to see it's form?

[Chorus 2]
All the thoughts in your head
Overgrown, been too long now
Try so hard, cut them down
Won’t be long ‘til they’re back now
All the thoughts in your head
Overgrown, been too long now
Try so hard, cut them down
Won’t be long ‘til they find their way back home

[Chorus 2]
All the thoughts in your head
Overgrown, been too long now
Try so hard, cut them down
Won’t be long ‘til they’re back now
All the thoughts in your head
Overgrown, been too long now
Try so hard, cut them down
Won’t be long ‘til they find their way back home
